5 cubes @ 34 hz *PICS* gloss black?

answers/responses in red...

Wal-Mart and Home Depot have the same style sanders, but they are electric and the one I posted is air powered. The difference is the Wal_mart and Home Depot ones are hook & loop, (velcro), pads. The air powered one is PSA, (sticky glue).IF you can find some 1500 - 2000 grit in hook & loop, go for it. If not and you have no air compressor, then hand sanding it is for you.

I do have an air compressor, but I think that I'll just stick with the velcro pads on the electric models since they are the only one available to purchase. How does that air powered one work, do you just glue the sand paper on the bootom of it?

Put it in the sun as long as you can to get the best cure out of it.

Cool, I'll do that.

See the first answer for that. It needs to match the sander you use.

If you end up hand sanding, then the standard paper you mentioned will work. But remember to use a sanding block. If you don't have one, wrap the paper around a paint stick. That will keep it flat and uniform.

I may use my sanding block that I have in some of the hard to get to areas, other then that I'll buy the velcro pads for the electric sanders.

You don't want to much and you don't want to little. There are a couple ways to go about it. You can have a bucket of water and a sponge to keep it wet. You can use a spray bottle. An empty 2 little bottle with a hole in the cap. I have a 3 pack of condiment bottles that I got from the Dollar Store. They look like the standard sauce squeeze bottles at Sonny's BBQ or at a stadium.

You want to keep it wet so the paper doesn't clog up.

I'll use a old ketchup bottle with water in it to slowly release the water allways keeping the sandpaper wet.

It will work. Use the highest speed at first, then drop it down. You don't want to burn through the paint. That will piss you off real fast.

This orbital buffer I have has only one speed, it doesnt spin, just vibrates in a lil circle like motion. You sure I shouldn't get a small electric hand held rotary buffer?

Meguires

ok, Meguires it will be then.

I got the supplies and will start wet sanding the box tommorow if the box is cured enough....

LOL, still no pics. It's gonna be hard to take some good pics of it now since it gets dark by the time I get home. I can still take a few of the finished project in my ride tonight though.

I have (4) realy thick 10mm steel bolts with fat washers holding this beast in.
