5 cubes @ 34 hz *PICS* gloss black?

iunno bro wood finish on a blacked out blazer would clash.. still looks well built tho.. gj
no no no, that was someone else that posted that pic up of wood finish, I'm going to paint it Gloss Black and do such a good paint job on it it should look exactly like my black paint on my truck right now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I used a foam brush and painted it with 3 coats of primer and then lightly sanded. Put like 2-3 coats of gloss black on and tured out pretty nice you can see some brush strokes but not bad. If u paint the black with spray it should turn out smoother. I counter sunk the screws and used wood filler.

I'm starting the paint job, so far I've rounded all the edges of the box and sanded it using 80 grit and slopped some wood filer on all the cut edges. After the wood filler dries I'll smooth it down and begin the primer stage by brushing it on.

  • Miniwax Sanding Sealer Primer
  • 4 cans of Gloss Black Lacquer for wood
  • 1 can automotive clear
  • Elmers wood filler

oh well paint it already than!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
LOL, waiting for wood filler to dry... **** it's 3:30 and night time comes at 6:20 I think. The primer takes 2 hours to dry so that puts me 5:30 then I got paint to still do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I might have to let teh paint dry over night and continue tomorrow.

Anyone know of a way to make paint dry faster, I'm allready in the sun. Should I bring out a fan and have that blow on it inside the garage or leave the box in the sun to dry?

im so sad //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

my box barely fits in my nissan, i only have 2 inches between the box and trunk lid. the sub excursion is going to be so much its going to slam against the lid and damage the subs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Should look good, just took a pic for ya for reference, it's kinda dark. And I don't know why the top edge looks like thatin the pic, it's not scratchedhttp://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g19/kenzo-kid/S5030032.jpg
Did you use spray primer and flat black spray or gloss spray, nice sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Rockford amp?

After a few more coats of this wood primer I'm using it should give me a nice finish to start painting on. All my cut edges of the mdf have been treated with wood filler and sanded down so I shouldn't have in varations of the final coats.

what should I do? I dont think I have enough room dept wise because the subs are going to move and may hit my trunk lid:crying:

LOL, dang! You wern't kidding Slick when you said you were close on clearance.

It looks fine to me the subs excursion will still have just enough clearance before hitting the rear of the trunk lid. Just make sure the box is secure so it doesnt move around and you will be ok. What kind of sound deading material do you have in your trunk, you better get alot of it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
