ok i am looking into getting a 5 channel amp for an install i am going to do in my buddys firebird. i am going to be running a 10"jl w6v2 at 2ohm, 6.5 type r comps in the front and 6.5 type r coaxils in the rear. i want an amp that puts out 45-70rms x4 @4ohm and 400-500x1 @2ohm. the budget i am on is NEW under $400 shipped. more than likley will purchase on ebay. right now i am thinkin i am gonna run a hifonics zx4400 4 channel, and a hifonics bx100d.all the suggestions are great.

if you dont mind ebay you can get a kicker 700.5 for a little over 300 or you can go to ikesound and get a dei for less than 200 but the dei wont wake max on the sub till 1ohm.

anything else i would suggest is over 400 even on ebay and that kicker amp does more than its rated for most of the time
well throw some of them out there i may be willing to go for it. but my big question is the interiors are 4 ohm and the sub willbe run at 2ohm. when i look at the power rating they say the rms's at a certian ohm example on the kicker 5 channel.

40 watts x 4 + 200 watts x 1 RMS at 4 ohms

150 watts x 2 + 200 x 1 bridged power

75 watts x 4 + 400 x 1 at 2 ohms

now when i hook it up will it work with my speakers running at 4 ohm and the sub at 2ohm? so the power would be 40x4 @4ohm + 400x1 @ 2ohm? i have never used a 5 channel let meknow

PPI has a five channel that will do 50/100x4 and 200/400x1. Ikesound has it for 275.00. It is make by DEI so it should be on par with anything else the make.

will a single amp that has 5 ch power better than two amps that doing their respected class speakers? just a question you might consider, not saying that 5 ch amps are crap or anything here

you could also look into the crossfire 5 channel. it seems pretty nice to me even though Ive never personally used it I have been around some of their amps
