I'm going to dip into home audio for the first time here, and would like to start out with a 5.1 system.
I was looking at the Fluance SX-HTB system, http://www.amazon.com/Fluance-Speaker-Surround-Theater-SX-HTB%2B/dp/B0002WRHZC/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1204867609&sr=8-2
I've been doing a lot of reading on avsforum about them, and they seem to get great reviews considering their price.
I'd also have to pick up a sub and a receiver. I was thinking about picking up an Onkyo TXSR575 from here http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/ONKTXSR575SLV/ONKYO/TXSR575-7.1-Channel-Home-Theater-Receiver-SILVER/1.html
Don't want to spend all that much on a sub, maybe $200 max.
I really don't have any preferences or desires, so I'm open to suggestions. Don't want to spend more then maybe $8-900 when it's all said and done.
