4x6/front door speaker ideas.

Looking for recommendation on speakers for my front doors. The stock is 4x6 but willing to modify to fit larger speakers. My main issue is I only have 2.25 inches in mounting depth. I've been looking around for speakers that will fit and haven't had much luck. Looking for recommendation on 4x6s or other sizes that will fit.

EDIT: btw I currently have Alpine type s 4x6s and am looking for an upgrade. keep that in mind.

i have some pioneer and polk 4x6s and a set of 6.5 components that would work if interested?

I have a cavalier and had the same problem. I made brackets to fit where the stock bracket was out of 3/4" mdf. made plenty of space to fit a speaker 2.5" deep

polk momo i have them in stock all you need is a 1/4" mdf ring and your all set. done alot of these in gm front doors and i am not a huge fan of polk personally even tho i sell em but they are far far better than the alpine. i have alot of cheaper (some better some not) speakers that will fit as well. mbquart ect...
