4th order or sealed box for my system?

I have a solid question for you vets out there. I want the best sounding box for my system and don't know much in regards to type. I have a 68 Dart that has Damplifier from top to bottom and luxury liner pro on top of it covering the floors. I recently purchased a system consisting of:

CK6 for my kick panels

VX 6X9's for my rear deck

TW 12" single

N2 and Nx4

I want a clean clear bass box not rattling the trunk. I would like the sound of the bass to come up through the deck into the cabin of the car. Which box would you suggest I install 4th order bandpass or sealed? If it's a bandpass box then I would want the vent to come up through the rear deck into the car. If its a sealed I would like a hole cut in the rear deck to expose the upward facing sub so that it fires directly into the car. What are your thoughts for SQ?

Jason

so thats about 400 watts rms for the sub(s) on 2 ohms right? Normally i'd say ported for the efficiency but meh, just go sealed and keep it simple. If your gonna run the port through the deck then it needs to be correct length to tune and appropriate box size. Don't go BurPcannon if you want clean bass.

Baffle those 6x9's so you don't cancel out any bass from the subs, i woudlnt bother cutting the rear deck, the bass will travel through just fine on its own. Probably better since you would have the cabin gain effect, But you could experiment first by removing the 6x9's Or the rear back seat to see if you think its any better before you start cutting things.

^^ this is going in a 68 dart (which i would love to see some pics of) not a new car. so there is actually something between the trunk and the cabin.

that said, with a solid front stage i doubt the 6x9s in the rear would ever really be missed. so you could simply use those to allow the sound to pass in.

what, a steel crossarm? lol thats what my 64 chevelle, 79 comero had behind the seat. just a cross arm though, not like a solid steel plate but he could seal up the trunk and go IB if the sub allows it.

Yes there is only a cross arm between the rear seat and the trunk along with a metal rear package tray. The package tray has two holes for 6X9's and the previous owner cut a rectangle 9X6" in the center between the two 6X9's. I wish I could post pics so I could show you guys my car and the way some people have done their Darts. I also saw someone cut a hole in their rear deck of a modern car and had the sub mounted right to the deck... I didn't see the nuder side but it was a clean set up.

So is the sealed box going to give me the best SQ over the 4th order bandpass? Is there any issues with me mounting the sub where its firing straight up through a hole in the rear deck? When you say baffle the 6X9's what do you mean by that?

I was just told that I should either do a 4th order or a sealed box for my application and the type of music I listen to and what I want to achieve.
I'm stupid, I keep thinking 4th order enclosures are bandpasses only.

Sealed boxes generally sound better, but it isn't as loud and doesn't hit low notes as well as a 4th Order/Ported box.
