4ohm to 2 ohm

i got 2 svc 4ohm 550rms speaker. how can i drop them from 4 ohm to 2 ohm. my amp says it will produce 200 watts at 4ohm and 400 at 2 ohm so i want it to give out 400, how can i lower the ohm

You can't just drop ohms when you want. Look at this chart to choose your best option.

You can not make each speaker be a 2ohm load.

You can, as mentioned, wire them in parallel for a final 2ohm load.

Is your amp a mono or 2-channel?

so for paralle i only need to wire (bridged) from the amp to one sub and then another set of wires from that sub to the next right?

Bad match on the amp and subs. Only option is to wire them for 200 each.

Can't bridge that amp into a 2ohm load.

As trigger said; your only option is to wire one sub to each channel.

if these are the specs for your amp then take and wire the subs to parrellel and put it on one channel but do not bridge it otherwise your amp will blow

so in other words there nothing much i can do but stick with 200rms for each sub . i tried bridging it before but i had the gains all the way and the sub volume too so i think that made the amp try to shut off...i guess its just best to change subs or be happy with what i got

wiring like u stated from one channel only and paralle would give me how much rms to each sub? (those are the correct specs btw)
