just wondering i have a 08 12" l7 dual 2ohm wired up to 4ohm and the dmm is reading 4.6ohms and the other sub is reading 4.3 just wondering why the one is off .3ohms

i know resistance but on my dmm its only about .3 to .4 so why still the difference on the one sub

thanks

Send the subs back and get a matched set. Otherwise they will fight each other.

j/k...

Consider yourself lucky if you can find a pair of commercially available subs with the exact same coil resistance readings. My Fi's are each slightly off. But not by any huge margin so they still do the job they were bought for. Unless your building your own subs it's going to be hard to match the coil resistances to each other. You could try sending one sub back and telling them you want one with a specific ohm reading, but I'd be willing to bet they wouldn't do it. They'd have to open up a bunch of different subs to find one that was either very close or exact, then they're left with a bunch of open box subs that they might not be able to sell as "New", so your better off just keeping what you have and pay no attention to it.

I thought my sarcasm was obvious...

Just having some fun here. I can't imagine .3 ohms difference being a problem. Except to serious competitors or the overly anal...

really ok i will sell them to your for 800 shipped
If I was being serious about the .0005 ohm difference, (I was not..) why would I want your poorly matched subs? They would have terrible square wave cancellation issues...

J/K!!

Edit:

Posting at the same time....FTL

hey what would u recommend for power on a set of polk momo comps 6.5's

they are rated for 125rms whats the most power i can safely give them they are only 3 weeks old btw

Keep turning up the gains until they blow. Turn the gains down just a bit and get new speakers. 100% accurate method, but it can be expensive..

Or just turn them up until they sound good and you're not clipping them. I'm far from a pro at audio, but I can hear speakers being clipped/killed. I think its one of those "you'll know it when you hear it" kinda things.

Don't listen to sarcastic remarks like this one. Have someone with a DMM or an O scope set the gains for you. I seriously doubt anyone that doesn't do this daily will be able to hear the difference between clipping and not clipping. Check out this little video on gain setting.
