****, 499 for an HO alternator..

Well, I think I'm going hands down with that motor city place. I can't see the competition beating 199 dollars for 200 amps. We'll see though ^^

ive never used them personally but it may be one of those times you get what you paid for.

they may be great but i think it would be worth the extra 100 for some place that has a better reputation

Sorry, but I've never upgraded electrical. Do you basically add up all

the fuse ratings on your amps and look for that size or better alt?

So if I want to run an AQ2200D, that's 200 amps right there?

Or an SAZ-3000 that's 300 amps, I need a compition 300 amp

alternator?

And thats not even factoring in the 60 or so amps to run mids and highs?

yeah i just got quoted 420 for a 250 amp one from EA 550 for an externaly regulated on
2001 ford ranger 3.0L

Why are you wanting to go external regulator. On newer cars that internal regulator keeps your alternator from overheating. It controls the output to back off so it burn up. You can get the same thing for an internally regulated one and have the protection. Just courios.
