45s in corner, needed?

A kerfed port should make a bigger difference than putting a corner in the box. Flaring the ends of a port tends help drastically, but putting little corners between box planes tends to only make minimal effects.

 
They can change your box volume/tuning and/or disrupt air flow. I've lost up to 0.5 dB by adding a corner. Some spots in a box may like them, while others may not. They are tricky and are only worth messing with if you have a Termlab and are trying to maximize your score.

Although I don't recommend messing with 45 degree corners, I do recommend for everyone to round over the corners on the entrance/exit of their ports. The flares on a kerfed slot port and aero port tend to help greatly.
