400w rms amp for 2 comp 12s?

Whats your budget? Wanting a clean used amp, or new..What is the model # on the subs to look up specs for the right ohm operation?Final ohm load to get the most out of them

They're single voice coil 4 ohm. I do have a phoenix gold xs2500 amp, but the gain pot is shot but always powered the subs nicely. Perhaps I should fix it. I figured either that or buy a cheaper amp.

You could find a good used Alpine 500 watt mono amp for under 100 bucks that would serve some justice..it may cost you that on the repair of your current amp, up to 130 local,.id get it repaired if possible...thats a decent amp..the Alpine 500 watt mono is a pretty much bullet proof amp for the money, and will serve the subs just fine of 400 rms with a little head room and 2 ohm stable

Look for the Alpine MRP-M500 on your local craigslist if you didn't yet, great amps and will work forever. I had one hooked up to a 12" type r and it was almost 600 rms @ 2 ohms, which is gonna be what you're looking for. I sold mine on craigslist for $70, and I see them often around my area for not much more, and they're everywhere, most likely you could find one. Good luck!
