all the other subs listed will destroy this woofer in every category in price and SQ performance. 420 dollars down the toilet not justified.
you havent' heard much, there's way better options out there. I'd highly recommend you checking out any local SQ or SPL competitions and see the big wide world of car audio goodness thats out there. Then they must be amazing cause my w6v3 is so clean and loud with some nice lows. Never heard anything like it to be honest .
I said SQ competitions meaning sound quality style pure clean rich bass that can melt your face off along with professionally done and vehicles tuned with real time analyzers and mids and highs that are out of this world. The whole car environment is flex and rattle free and acoustically treated. There's two worlds about it, dont lump one up next to another. Look for competitions that mainly specialize in sound quality.a lot of competitions people get excited by having loud deep bass and a trunk and roof that flexs and rattles. That's all good and fun but I'm looking for pure clean rich bass with quality which a JL can provide. I get your point though but we're not all looking for competition style sounds.
refer to momaxpowers list. Any of those would give the W6 a run for its money and you have left over money for a properly designed enclosure which is 75% of how good your sub will sound. You'll still have money left over to deaden your vehicle. How good a system is depends on the quality of the install. You can have a junk 12 inch woofer in a proper T-line enclosure outperforming 500$ woofer in a pre-built enclosure. And how much does that cost ? This dude is looking to spend 400$ .
