the midbass on the xxx is better, overall sq i would have to give to diamond audio....

I'll echo the recommendation for the Image Dynamics CXS64 set. Same ones I have.

What kind of amp do you have to give them? I'm giving mine 125w each pair and they get very loud and sound fantastic to me!

Metallica's One.. a personal favorite... has some great drum work. Megadeth does too.

You need to hear them. And all the other brands you are considering. Reputation alone isn't enough. But if that's all you have, I'd steer towards components that have healthy midbass, like the ID's.

More like great way to waste $400. Much better options for that price range.
