AQ HD3 vs HDC3

First let me address the obvious

AS much as it would have pleased me to have the same coils I don't so although I'd like to do a true comparison swap I can't.Having said that this is what I found.

Dual 2 HD3's at .5 today on a fresh burp from a 4 hr. ride 148.6. This was with me in the drivers seat sealed. I mention this cause usually I'm in the passengers side. When I pulled the subs the left one had a torn dustcap. Could be why I couldnt break a 49.Dual 1 HDC3's at .25 I had a hard time trying to get the amp from going into protect. Eventually I did end up with a 149.6 but even then the amp went into protect. The last burp was when I hit that no voltage. 12.2v.I did run 1 HDC at .5 for a bit and it seemed to revel in the power. Will be trying them at 1ohm tomorrow. Had to get my meter loaded into my comp.My first impression of the HDC was man thats stiff. I thought It would be a min before I could see some good excursion but paired with the 5k they jumped up and said HI! I'm not sure if I like the smaller dustcap or not. I do like the cones though. I'm still testing this set. I'm betting 10" subs and an Atomic 5kw amp.

Both are Copper coils.

Peak frequency is 43 at the moment.

Im surprised you got the AT to take the .25ohm even a tad, mine automatically went into protect no matter what I did. how much more power would you say the hdc's were getting by running at 0.25 vs. the hd's at 0.5?

Not quite sure but I do know that they didn't like it:crap: Broke the spider landing free. Will goop it up and put it back together for more torcher testing. So far the HD3's look to be able to handle more.

Talked to DJ about this and he said that the Aluminum recone has a spider landing much like the HD3. Instead of 2 layers of 3 spiders apiece seperated it's all one big sandwiched spider.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
