Nice lookin box, cant wait for a performance report, always wanted to do a buncha 8s..and since u had 2 great 15s u can give a good non biased opinion based on something like that

Thanks appreciated it, can't wait to hook it up in a bit and see how it sounds. I did 3 8's not too long ago and it impressed some people but I was never really thrilled with it. The unfortunate thing about having 15's before is that I'm used to it being loud so when it's not loud to my liking then I get bored with it haha. But I'll definitely do my best to test how they sound, I'm sure they'll sound great.

hmm.. its hard to tell from the angle how much its over exactly.. but is there any room to take some inches off the base board?

It's only an inch or so above the rear window line and 2-3 inches above the side window, not sure which window they'd measure at the comp. I probably could lower the false floor about 2 inches but I unfortunately don't have the time this week, this build took me way longer than expected to begin with, I'm sure it'll pay off.

you can ask before hand.. if its a prob don't compete.. you can still measure if you get the early enough most times.. you may have to slip em a few bucks..

Thanks dude. That is literally the only thing I don't like about Orion stuff, is the inputs, it's annoying to always have to trip them down.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I just got them hooked up and I have to say that I am seriously impressed, they sounded clean and hit really tight. A lot more than I expected and I haven't even really tuned them yet and they're only getting 250 watts each.

Finishing up the install and putting everything back together, been up since 6 am working on it:

I have to say that so far I am so thoroughly impressed with these subs and they sound so clean, hit the lows and get loud, they're not even broken in yet. I will leave more updates on anything else I do and what my opinions are of these things, so far A+ in my book.

How do they compare to the 15s as far as getting loud?

I honestly can't believe how low they get. Now my last box with the 15's was tuned higher like around 38hz and this one is around 32hz. But to be honest I never got a sound I liked out of the 15's but it could've been the enclosure too. These 8's get loud for sure, you wouldn't believe they're 8's and they're only getting 250 watts and they're not even broken in yet.

I drove around some more last night and today and I still can't get over how good and clean it sounds while also hitting pretty hard. And if anyone will be at the Phoenix comp. on the 7th of August and in Ventura, CA on the 28th of August I believe and you can hear it.

Not sure to be honest, they're still pretty stiff and I think they could definitely handle a few more watts. If I were to throw out a number I'd say 145-146 but I don't compete a whole lot so I could be off but I think those numbers are pretty close.
