im guessing you have a 1K@2 ohm rms amp since you came up with those figures and i dont think they make that many amps that are 1000x4 rms @ 2 ohms so im thinking you have a mono amp with 1000rms at 1 channel. So if you want 4 subs to run off that amp at 1,000 watts rms your going to need to get 4 dual voice coil subs that are 4 ohms per coil. wire each sub in series to give you 8 ohms per sub, then you would need to connect the 4 subs in parallel to give you a 2 ohm load, but remember you would be feeding 1000 rms to each sub but since each sub is in series your feeding 500 to each coil.

Get 4 dual voice coil subs with 4 ohm coils that handle 500rms per coil.

Before i can begin to recommend a sub i need to know more information...

what are your goals SQ/SPL/SQL.. how much space do you have... what size subs do you want.... how much are you looking to spend...???

4 x 4ohms subs can't give 2ohms to start with......

4 8ohms would but if you wired em in series 4 4's= 1ohm
