4 RE8's or 2 DD 1008a's?? Need help with new project

My side project for my girlfriends car is finally coming together. I just picked up 4 RE8's but i really wanted to see what the DD 8's can really do. The set up is gonna be a ported enclosure in a trunk car. I'm just wondering what you guys think has the potential to be louder. I'd really like to get a pair of 1508's. so what do guys think.

see, thats what i thought too. they sure dont look like much but I've heard of some people getting pretty good results with them. I didint expect anything like what loyd did but i think they got hyped up a little too much. I really had my heart set on some DD's in the first place, i just got a decent deal on the RE's.

whoa, I disagree, I have 2 RE's in a ported box,tuned to 35hz on a 300 watt amp, and they kick pretty good,so I wouldn't say they are weak, but yeah, I would still go with the DD's.Just happens they're better

I will agree that the DD's are better but I wouldn't say 2 of them are better than 4 RE8s.

the re8s can get decently loud given the right enclosure and power. I had 1 in a .75 cube box tuned to 35hz with 300rms on it and it was loud enough for fill for me. Then had 3 in a 1.5 cube tuned to 32 with about 200 a piece. I was fairly happy with them. I had 6 of them at one point for a project but ditched it and sold off 3 of them before I used them.

I would liek to play with some dds some time but I have too many woofers already and not enough cars to stick them in.

I wouldnt go that far. Maybe in a weak install
