4 ohm at 2 ohm?

i have 2 15" kicker l7 dual 4 ohm subs... can i run these subs at 2 ohms or one ohm? im getting a hifonics amp that puts out 2000 rms at one ohm. is it safe to run these subs at one ohm or will it damage them....and another question, can someone please describe to me how to PROPERLY work in a sub. thanks everyone!!! If the amp is one ohm stable it is fine will not hurt subs other than distortion from that terrible amp

goodness....

but if you have 2 dual 4 ohm subs, then they can be wired either to 4 ohms or 1 ohm. if you have two 2 ohm subs, then they can be wired to 2 ohms or 0.5 ohms.
