4 channel-Wattage??

Hey guys,

I know how it goes. It's been asked a hundred times. I'm sure its been asked a thousand.

Anyways, just got my 05 Mitsubishi Galant, and its time to strip the system. Just bought my pioneer head, and my PG RSD-65CS components. (60 rms each).

Now, I want to power 2x10.

How much wattage should I be looking at? Any recomendations?

Under 300 for the amp is the price range right now.

Thanks,

Mark

P.S. didnt get any subs yet..

Sorry bout that guys,

Subs I want to get are 2x10. 2x12 might be a little too big for my trunk.

So lets go with the 2x10.

Now I want to use the 4 channel to power my front two components, and the two subs.

I am looking for something that can handle some bass. I listen to EVERYTHING from lil wayne, to 311, to sinatra, to springsteen, garth brooks and bon jovi.

So I need something that can handle a bit of everything.

I didn't pick out subs yet, so i figured I would pick them out according to the specifications of my amp.

I do like my music loud, but I dont need to be showing off in a parking lot. I just want something that bumps, for a reasonable price.

Thanks a lot,

Mark

so you want to run front stage and subs on one amp? it can be done, but will likely cost more than 2 separate amps. and a class a/b amp is way less efficient than a class d (sub amp)

JCo, ok I am going to take your advice on that then. I figured it would be cheaper... Shows how little I know:confused:

I allreay had a Kicker zx350.2 picked out to power my comps, so lets stay with that.

Next, I just need an amp and subs. This is where you guys come in.

So you allready see my setup:

Pioneer DEH-p600ub

PA Comps

Kicker zx350.2

2x10???

Sub amp??

Thanks

If you guys could just get me in the right direction, that would greatly help...

I don't need specific models, just specific specs. Rms, Max, maybe some cheap but realiable brands, etc.

Is a 1x12 or 1x15 out of the picture?

you could use a 4 channel amp that say does 4x100 rms. use the 2 front channels for the PG speakers. then use the 2 rear channels. Bridge them and probably be getting in the area of 200+ ish watts to a single 12 or 15

WHEN YOU FACTOR IN THAT EACH KICKER WATT EQUALS 5 OR 10 WATTS OF AMPS MADE BY A LOT OF OTHER COMPANIES.
i wouldn't buy from there with an ad like that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

but that amp would work, but it's have to be some low end subs.

you'd get 120wrms (@4) up front and 325wrms (@4) for the sub. not a lot of power and you cant go lower than 4 ohms bridged with that amp

I think you could go with that amp... Simply power your comps with the front 2 channels... so 120watts per side...

Then power 2 woofers, at 170 a piece with the rear 2 channels... A woofer that comes to mind is an Resonant Engineering RE... You could wire them both to a four ohm load and run the amp bridged... Really a decent option IMO...

That amp will put out a little more power than it is rated for, so you may be looking at 200 per woofer
