4 Channel Amp Question

If I get a 4 channel amp like this:

Kicker ZX650.4:

Is it possible to use only two of the channels (not bridged) safely to get 120W RMS x2 for a set of comps? Or do I have to use the four channels?

I just want to get some room for the future.

I've got a question as well. I'm using a 4 channel memphis amp for my comps but I'm bridging it. I'm only amping my comps up front and running my rears off HU power. My question is this: do I have to get a set of 4 channel rca's or 2 channel rca's and only plug into the front inputs on the hu and just get splitters to plug 4 inputs into the amp??

If you use a splitter you'll lose fade control, but still have balance. At least that's how I wire them. If you have enough pre outs on your HU then run 2 RCA's, so you'll keep fade & balance.

You going to amp the rears? Just get another set of RCA's if you HU will take them. Will probably need the gain lower on the rears if they're reflecting off the rear glass.

I just set up the GF's car this way and it sounds very nice with Crystals in the front and Polk coax's in the back.

If the front channels of the HU are being wired to the amp via RCA's with splitters so the amp can run bridged and the rear channels of the HU are wired to the rear speakers via the HU's internal amp, why would fading be lost?

Exactly my point, Deja. I think he was misunderstood when I said I was running the rears off HU power. He was thinking I was only goin to use the front rca's to the splitters then to the front/rear on the amp, in which case fade would be lost. But to answer my question, I should be okay with 2 channel rca's for my front stage right?

I think it depends on the amp.. I've seen some amps that can run bridged off a 2 channel RCA input and some that need splitters. What amp?

I'm running my PG Rsd's with a Memphis MCA 2004. Bridging it will give me 150x2 according to Memphis.

Ah gotcha. Not sure if you need splitters for that or not, since Memphis doesn't have the OM's online.
