4 Channel Amp Help

put ur front speakers on 1-2 channels.

put ur sub on 3-4 channels.

If u have a aftermarket headunit, run the back speakers on the headunit.

just make sure u wire it correctly and u dont put it a to low of a ohm load./

I will give that a try. You don't recommend two amps then I take it?

Bro... Do this: So you won't have to get another amp...

Each speaker is 4ohm like you said so make each set 8-ohms.

* How to: *

Take the + on speaker 1(6.5) off the amp, and take the - off speaker 2(6.5), then twisted them together. Leaving the other + and - hooked up ( This is wiring in series - an 8ohm load is now created for 1 set )

- CONTINUE TO DO THAT FOR EACH SET OF SPEAKER, EXCEPT THE SUB

When you finish you should have 4 wires ( 2 of them + & 2 of them - )... Bridge those on channel 1/2 ( That's gonna give you a 4-ohm load bridged ) ...

NOW FOR THE SUB!!!

It sound like the sub is small... So I'm guessing it's a Single Voice Coil 8ohm or 4ohm ....

... Bridge that one channels 3/4 ( Make sure you set 3/4 to LP )

That should do the trick....

So, then the 6x9's will go in the slots where I pulled the other + and - wires? Is there any risk in wiring the amp that way?

No... You are goin' to bridge channels 1 and 2 together after you make each pair of speakers 8 ohms
Okay, so where do the 6x9's fit in? Are they hooked up to the head unit as stated above and I am only bridging the 1 and 2 channels for the components?

You don't hook anything up to you Headunit.

... Wire the 6.5s to 8 ohm... Then wire the 6x9s to 8 ohm... ( As I stated above " How To " ). then connect the remaining positives together and the remaining negatives together, and bridge them on 1/2.

I get what you are saying for the 6.5 components, but when I pull the 6x9 wires off of channels 3 and 4, where do they get hooked up to? That is the part confusing me, thank you.

After you pull them from channels 3/4 ... You wire them the same way you did the 6.5s ( 8 ohms )...

After that:

You add the positive from the 6x9 to the positive of the 6.5, then you add the negative from the 6x9 to the negative of the 6.5

Then bridge them on channels 1/2

Okay, so I will take the - from the #1 6x9 and connect it to the amp, where the #1 6.5 is connected. Then take the + from #2 6x9 and connect it to the amp where #2 6.5 is connected. And then twist the - and positive wires that are not connected from the 6x9's together?

Almost... But you got the drift.

....

STEP 1) Take each 6x9 off the amp, seperating the positives from the negatives

STEP 2) Take the negative of 6x9 #1 in one hand and the positive of 6x9 #2 in the other hand.

STEP 3) Twist those 2 wires together.

STEP 4) Take the other 2 wires that aren't twisted together & bridge them on channels 1/2 in the same slots and the 6.5s.

....

PS -

Make sure that you put the Positives with the Positives and the Negatives with the Negatives when you bridge on channels 1/2

Okay cool, am I losing any power by running the speakers that way?
