a yes im thinking of upgrading my subs, i have 2 kicker l7 12s, and im tryin to decide what would be a louder better setup, if i bought 2 more l7 12s or just scrapin the 2 i have now for one 18?> the amp i have now is a kicker sx1250.1 and i either would just buy another one for the 2 12s and strap them together or with the 18 buying a whole new amp? in a ported box, what would be a louder setup? thanks

so four 12's or one 18 is what you are asking? do you have the proper space for either setup?
if you do, four 12's (more cone area)
x2 as long as u have proper airspace for em, run the 4 12s... With those subs/amps and a good box that setup will get pretty loud.

I would do 2 more with 12^ft separated into 2 chambers each tuned at 35hz with either another sx1250.1 or a 4k amp of some sort on them. That would get nasty.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

thanks for the quick replys, well i will be putting them in the back of a 1998 tahoe so i have plenty of room, the subs i have now are the d2 version so how would i go about wiring them with another set of d2s. yea i was just going to buy another 1250.1sx since i already have one, so run each amp to two subs, would it be better to have just one port for the whole box or seperate chamber it?

One common chamber box will do fine, assuming you will brace the enclosure good internally. Otherwise 2 seperate boxes might be better, not to mention being a lot easier to get into the truck with each one being 1/2 the weight.

Seperate chamber would give it a little more bracing, but the difference wouldn't be significant it u did a good amount of bracing anyways. With a box that size there should be plenty of bracing + double/triple baffle.

I would prefer separate chambers and 2 separate boxes is less one unit weight but more weight in the end. I would build the box in the car double baffle just the face plate and put a layer of resin throughout the inside of the box along with necessary supports.
