3k RMS@1ohm, 14.4V

Looking for an amp that will do 3k@1 ohm and 14.4V. It will be powering 2 American Bass XFL's. Supposedly AB amps are rated at 16V which is why I'm opening it up a bit to all other respectable brands.

AB amps will do rated at 14.4v. They're the same as AQ/SQ and many many other Korean amps for the most part.

I saw a thread of a guy who talked to Bob at AB and he said they're rated at 16V, not to mention if they do rated at 14.4V why are the fuse ratings so low? My BRX11600.1D is only rated at 1600W@1ohm and it's fused at 140a. the VFL120.1 is only supposed to be fused at 150a and it supposedly does over 2200W? Mathematically that's not possible, unless they're rated at 16V.

They arent rated @16v they are 16v capable ...they r rated @14.4..and the 120 wont do over 2200 @14.4 maybe 18-1900

The 120.1 might do 2200 wired @.5

Not to mention my electrical never does 14.4V in the first place, most of the time with the car running it sits at 13.8V and with the sub and amp going full bore it drops no lower than 13V. That's another reason why I'm looking for something that will do 3k@14.4V.

Time for a ho alt woth external regulator so u can charge at 15.1-15.3

And bumping up the power from the hifonics to a solid 3k. u will be dropping alot lower than 13v

Yeah I plan on a good AGM and HO alt under the hood eventually. Just gotta get the money for it. I know what I need to do, I just don't have the means to afford it right now.

Well spend the money on the alt and bats first then save for the big amp..thays where most ppl do thimgs *** backwards..u will be alot halppier and so will whatever equipment u decide to buy
