3D Spiral Horn Enclosure

I'd say it's a mix of a transmission line and a flared port. I don't even remember how I came across it. If you could find a spiral like that you didn't have to make out of 100 or so cut pieces of MDF, it'd be quite easy to make. Just do a PVC normal ported enclosure and glue the spiral in it.

There's a lot of math in dem dere spirals.... Actually, if you look at all of his enclosures, they use some kind of ribbed mat for spirals, not wood. That way you wouldn't have to cut anything.

Making the spiral wouldn't be the pain - sealing around the outside would.

From my understanding of enclosures, there is no real "horn" there. A spiral would just allow you to have a long port in less space. All of his speakers look like ported enclosures to me.....

DUH! look at the spiral... the distance from one "thread" of the spiral to the next "thread" is constantly getting larger. GGPWNDKTHX

Actually they made the spirals several different ways - the site is really worth a good read.
