I have enough problems building regular ported boxes. I dont need some einstien coming up with a louder alternative and making me have f!ck up even more trying to build his space station for a subwoofer.

From my understanding of enclosures, there is no real "horn" there. A spiral would just allow you to have a long port in less space. All of his speakers look like ported enclosures to me.....

The technique to make it a 'horn' is that with the spiral port, the mouth's spiral is more apart than the throat and the length of the spiral makes up for the massive displacement of say, a folded horn.
