36hz too high for an SX?

im now at 32hz on my enclosure and would like to go to 36hz for better sound with what i listen too. Will that be ok with an SX?

You can tune it as high as you would like, but depending on what you are using it for it may not sound very good.

What are your current box specs?

I had my SX tuned to 35 hz and it was very loud and sounded good too.

i just installed mine today sealed and with 1300 watts or so its really quiet...

Well not quiet but not as loud as some other lower subs i have had

36Hz is a really nice number. The really low bass notes won't thunder louder than the rest, but you'll have a more balanced lowend

You'll have a huge peak in the upper 30's lower 40's with a very steep rolloff below that. If that's what sounds good to you, knock yourself out.

Pretty much anything from 28-45hz will work for music, depending on the airspace, and types of music you mostly listen to.

45?!?! Can you say "one note fart box" for 99% of the subs on the market. There are exceptions but that's really high for a daily box meant to do anything other than piss off the meighbors.

Wasnt the best sounding box ever, but it sounded just fine for a Bassrace setup doing good numbers.

Theres alot of people with boxes tuned from 40-45hz for daily.... Definately not a fartbox. Now if its tuned any higher, yeah, it wont be the best, but just because a box is tuned to 40-45hz doesnt mean it wont play music.

Are you going to build a new box for it?

Tuning higher while keeping the same airpsace is going to give you a higher peak in the response, and at a higher frequency. Expect a peak about 2db higher at about 5hz higher than you are now.
