Ok. Im wondering what electrical I will need to support my amp. Its a DD m3a. My last setup i was running a SQ 3500.1 @ .5ohm having an HO alt on my last car and 2 88ah batteries. Voltage was great never below 13 volts. Question is a bought a new car and it has a 150a alt on it at the moment (2013 fusion) I really dont want to spend the 500 dollars for an extra 80 amps of alt if it isnt needed but then again i dont want to have a bank of batteries in my car either since it is a daily driver. I dont compete at all. Opinions?

asking this forum is going to get you some weird answers. some will say you will never see the 3000 watts because of box rise and your car cannot supply it, batteries are not worth it just use stock. some will say to do a double big three upgrade with o awg some will say that just big 3 with 4awg will work fine. some will say use ofc copper some will say cca will work just fine, save some money, your not in a huge system....so many different answers. basically, choose your best answer you think is good and go from there....good luck with getting the answer you are looking for.

According to some in the Alternator thread in general discussions(link below), some say having extra batteries are a waste and do not help at all as well. just sayin. take the responses you get with a grain of salt...

The alt is the best option of course but you'll need at least 2 agm batts as well
What size would you recommend?

if you do use agm batteries(recommended), i recommend using the kinetik power cells(HC 2400). they should be used within 6' of the amps and no further according to kinetik. they will work in the main battery location but are not recommended by kinetik for starting batteries. under hood or starting batteries i would go with an odyssey. Just my $0.02

Issue is if you get batteries one under the hood and a group 31 in the rear. You'll be at the $500 range still
