3 subs...mono amp...gain with DMM

Ok...So if I have 3 8" subs wired up that are 4 ohms each.....this makes the load around 1.34 ohm. If I am wiring this to a 1 ohm stable mono amp and each speaker is rated for 300 watts (amp is 1500rms at 1 ohm)....do I just turn up the gain (voltage) until I see the equivalent voltage for 900 watts? I am guessing this is the way it would work? am I correct?

Yes. sqrt(1.34*900) = 34.73V
