3 Speakers Out at Once

Hey everyone,

So I put new speakers/deck in my car about a year ago. But last week all but the front left speaker stopped working. I checked to make sure my deck was plugged in properly and all of the speakers are hooked up as well. I also made sure the fade/balance wasn't messed up.

Note: I did have to put in an adaptor frame (forgot correct name) for the rear speakers to fit. Try we just a half inc too small or so. But the frame and speakers became loose so they aren't screwed in completely And kind of just sit on top of the frame which is metal.

Can anyone think of the potential problem here? So I can avoid having to immeadiaty spend 50 bucks for a place to troubleshoot it.

Thanks! Sorry if the description is kinda shabby.

if you have a dmm you can hook it to speakers to make sure there good, did you make sure to check wires from the cd player all the way to the speakers? take the speaker you know is working out and hook it to all the other channels to see if its something with wiring or cd player

I got the front right speaker to work but the rear ones are still out. I hooked up the rear speakers to the front and they worked. So I'm guessing there's something wrong with the wiring to the rear? (I checked the fade)

When I was messing with the deck, the power just stopped going to it. all the plugs are in and I've swapped decks. Did I blow a fuse?

Thanks

To connect my after market head unit I had to cut the wires of the head unit plug and use the twist-on wire connectors to connect the right plug. I just connected the wires by color. This was a couple year ago, it all worked for a year or so.

as you can tell I'm not experienced or knowledgeable in car audio other than being able to sketchily replace my speakers....

why didnt you get a wiring harness for your car, there only like 15 bucks or something

You need to check that the wires to the rear speakers aren't touching anything metal and that the wiring you did at the HU isn't shorted. It sounds like you might have blown the rear channels on the HU.
