3 ohm speakers + 2 ohm amp = ???

Forgive the possible newb question. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I have a set of Boston Acoustic Pro 6.53 speakers. They are 250W rms, and I would like to power them with a Kicker IX 500.2 amp, which is 250x2. My concern is the speakers are listed @ 3 ohm, and the amp is @ 2 ohm. WIll I simply not be using the full power of the amp, or will it cause some other unforseen problem?

down side is you won't use all the power of the amp,up side is the amp won't get as warm or hot either.but will still work just fine
