what kind of amp do i need for 3 alpine type-r 12" subs?

yeah dude the type-r is one of most popular subs ever haha no need to list totally agreed.... i would look into Hifonics... they are good amps for the money.

honestly u would be better off with a 2500d, u can use the 1200.1, but if u wanna be loud u won't be achieving it with 300-400 watts to it...

better off running just 2 and feeding 2 600 watts...

that will only be enough wattage for 1 or 2 subs

yea if all you have or can afford is an jbl 1200.1 it be better just to get 2 and spend the extra money on the install.

I run a JBL 1200.1 on two of my 12 R's. Could possibly use a little more juice.

go with 2 12" over the 3 12's and use that space to make an actual bigger and better box for them. that way, you can run it at 1-ohm stable (with the DVC 4-ohm). hifonics brutus makes great amps that can be run at 1ohm stable and very affordable. the bx1505 (1500rms) is around $240 at http://www.onlinecarstereo.com . its more than enough for most folks (me).

quality > quanity. if you're on a budget, its a wise choice.

Did you already buy these subs or are you just daydreaming about having 3 12" Type-R subs in your car? Almost guranteed you can have it louder and sound better if you only have two subs and spend the rest on a decent box and dynamat for your trunk.

well i wanted 3 type -r's because i found selling them brand new 06 models for $85 so i could afford 3 i dont no tho if you really think they will sound better with only 2 then i will only get 2 but should i use the jbl jp 1200.1 for the 2? or wht would be the best amp for the cheapest price for 2 12's for under $230

what kind of car do you have, and more specifically how many cubic feet, for 3 you would need to measure out about 9-10 ft^3 Gross. Unless you have a huge car i doubt you have even close to that. 2 is the perfect match for a JBL 1200.1.

its not worth gettin 3, honestly try a single 15R wit the 1200.1, that would be a much better setup

Would One 15 be better than Two 12's? I think two 12's would be cheaper on ebay im not positive i think the 12's run 215 shipped a pair and 250-260 for one 15.
