3,000 rms on Stock Alt? yes or no

I have done a 3000 watt amp on a stock alt and a shit load of batteries... It can be done but dont be suprised if something goes POOF. Instead of dumping alot of money into batteries find a decent alt and a nice big battery. Check out ebay and find a 200a Loadboss alt and pick up a d3100 and you will be strait

I don't plan on doing any huge builds just because i only use this car as a daily driver here's a list of things i want to get done in this order.

- replace stock battery w/ (1) yellowtop g31 (should i go ahead and purchase two?)

- install door speakers 125-175rms from 4ch. amp

- deaden front two doors

- big 3

- downgrade to (1) 12 or (2) 10's

- HID kit

im runnin a zx2500.1 off stock alt and 2 red tops, with very little light dim

your car should put out around 13.8-14.4v, so 3000/13.8 = 217.39

so id get like a 250 amp alt and do the big 3

Im running two hyp1200.1s off of a stock alt and a deka intimidator 9a31

they are strapped at 1ohm, and at full tilt voltage only drops into the 11's.

these amps will do 4000 watts strapped at 1ohm at 14.4 volts. not sure what Im really seeing though. it can be done

yea i understand what you are saying and yea he might could get away with it with a lot of batteries but he never asked if it would kill the alt with time which it prob will but he could possibly run 3k watts with alot of batts its been done before, also even with a 250-300amp alt running 3krms hes still gonna need the big 3 done and a good battery upfront and at least one in the back either way hes gonna be spending 300-600 on batts

You can play 10K RMS off batteries alone.

Off a good battery bank you can play 3-5K RMS for an extended period.

Just because it's possible doesn't mean it should be done.

Period.

He should get a HO alternator, do the Big 3 to solidify his main electrical basis, and call it a day.

i have 1600rms from my zx1500 and 700rms from my comp amp the 700 doesnt pull much but still without any comps running with only my sub amp it only droped to around 13.3-13.4 so a half volt drop bascially since it idles around 14 volts and you are running only 1krms more and droping to the 10's somethings wrong i have only 25 more amps on my alt compared to yours so roughly 300 watts difference i could run more than u and should have the same voltage in perfect world that is

1600RMS != 2500RMS

Get a Red-top. That's more of a proper front battery. The YT is a deep cycle, while the Red-top is a starting battery.
