3,000 rms on Stock Alt? yes or no

105 amp is what i found, its possible if you do the big 3 and run some big batts i am running one zx1500 and one zx850.4 and only have 130amp alt and the 2 grounds on the big 3 done and a stinger spv70 in the back voltage at idle full tilt is at 13 at the amp
sounds promising then. maybe i'll go ahead and give it a try.

I was going to replace my stock underhood battery with a yellowtop g31 and put the second in the trunk for a total of (2) batteries. At idle i should be fine then right?

I still have yet to do big how many feet is needed for this or does it depend on the application

do the big 3 and get like 4 batts for the back and hook up one of them and run 1500rms on it and see the voltage and then let us know what the voltage is

also make sure u get more than 2 batts you should use at least one battery per amp but with a small alt i would run 3 prob 4 would work better someone who has dealt with this would kno more

do not listen to anything king ranch says.he is special

I'm going to start with the (2) batteries and see how it works out. if not then i'll just sell them and go back to my 1500w

Im gonnay I guarnatee it wont work

I tried about 2 months ago and cost myself more in the end

I tried running a Visonik 4000D @ 2ohm pushing MAYBE 2500rms, off a truck battery and 2 optima blue tops in the back and my voltage dipped down below 10 on full tilt QUICKLY.

I ended up burning every single fet in the amp, every single one

BTW - I have a 110amp alt, 2 runs of 0gauge, 3 NEW batteries and the big 3

Dont do it

I hope you don't tell people in real life you're knowledgeable.

3,000WRMS is the Root-Mean Square of the power generated.

Thus, at times the amp(s) will pull more than 250-amperes...

While a battery bank would help, as would the Big 3.

The strain on the electrical system would eventually cause the degradation of the alternator, and batteries simultaneously...

In laymen's... it'd be much more cost effective over time to just buy a H.O. alternator. Most of them will harness 250-350 amperes, and will put out more (usually, but not always the case.) at highway RPMS (2K +)

The average cost of a HO alt is about 200-300 bucks.

To buy 2 or 3 good YT's, it's gunna cost that much. Not to mention 1/0 AWG, ring terminals, and over time the weakening of the cells, ultimately forcing you to buy new batteries just to cover up the underlying problem.

wow that amp must be really horrible on being efficient look at my sig thats what i am running only drops to 13 full titl at idle and only the 2 grounds done on the big 3

yea i understand what you are saying and yea he might could get away with it with a lot of batteries but he never asked if it would kill the alt with time which it prob will but he could possibly run 3k watts with alot of batts its been done before, also even with a 250-300amp alt running 3krms hes still gonna need the big 3 done and a good battery upfront and at least one in the back either way hes gonna be spending 300-600 on batts

I have a 02 civic with stock alternator, big 3, yellow top, and only 4 gauge wiring, and with my nine.1 and nine.4 both running full tilt at idle my voltage doesn't drop below 12.4 volts. Not sure exactly how much power I'm getting out of everything with my setup, but so far I've had no problems with anything, but I don't blast my shit at full tilt very often, and when I do, it's not for long.

You dont have near 2500rms......
i have 1600rms from my zx1500 and 700rms from my comp amp the 700 doesnt pull much but still without any comps running with only my sub amp it only droped to around 13.3-13.4 so a half volt drop bascially since it idles around 14 volts and you are running only 1krms more and droping to the 10's somethings wrong i have only 25 more amps on my alt compared to yours so roughly 300 watts difference i could run more than u and should have the same voltage in perfect world that is
