2way alarm w/out Remote Start please?

Over here in san diego, we really don't need the feature "remote starter" so i was wondering if anyone out there knows a stable alarm out there that has 2 way and does not have the feautre remote start. because if i buy a Viper, that is what basically im paying for, the remote starter.

If I'm not mistaken the Viper 5000 is the top of the line (2 way LCD pager remote) without the remote start.

x2 on HCCAfan, he is major pimpage. Most 2-way alarms come with the autostart. It's become a standard in car security these days, and those packages arn't too expensive anyways. You don't nessesarily have to use or install the feature, but it's a nice little bonus to impress the ladies =)

The Viper 791xv is the top of the line with remote start..just F.Y.I.

Yep you can always get one with and just not hook it up. Maybe later on down the road you might want it.

Well the Clifford, Viper, and other DEI based companies come with a lifetime warrenty IF you have it installed by a DEI certified installer. But knowing how most of us on the forum are DIYers, I guess it really doesn't matter. Realibility = the quality of the installation. So if you do decide to install it yourself, make sure its quality, but judging based on your box building skills, you do quality stuff. So no worries about the realiability.

I had the Viper 5000 which didn't have the remote start but had the 2-way pager. Very nice unit, though I'm taking it off and putting on a Viper 791XV since I want remote start.

I think they make 2-way alarms w/o the autostart for the maunal transmission crowd.

Yeah my bud is ending up wanting it. It's a nice alarm though, I would see about getting one though I dunno how much they cost just buying them from a store.

Compustar models....FM is more afforable....Spread Spectrum has a mile and a quarter range...but will run you at least $500-$600 installed. But you know you don't HAVE to get the remote start option.
