whats carckin. I drive a 99 vw passat. have an alpine mrd1005 running a type-r15" wired for 2 ohms. and I have a mrd somethin pushin 75w to each component. with a stock alt and a decent battery I can only get about 13.5v on each amp. (idle and driving) I want both amps to be @ 14.4 volts. if I add a 2nd battery will this do it? or will i have to get an alt? im running roughly 1400w. I am also thinking of upgrading everything this summer and running around 2500 watts. I dont know jack about cars so the big3 is outa the question. just need some help/opinions. thanks

big 3 will definately help you, it cant hurt. its not gonna help you get more voltage to them, but will give you great consistant volts. as long as you read the stickies and know how to follow a wire, and use tools, you will be good doing the big 3. and if i were you i would just get a good battery, like a kinetic. it will help out. but dont add a second battery because that will just put more strain on your alternator, and make it harder for it to keep its voltage up.
