2nd Battery needed?

I have a Kinetik HC 1400 under the hood, I have 1/0 power and ground, as well as the big 3 in 1/0, and a 90A stock alt (which I dont plan to upgrade). I'll be running a kicker zx 2500.1 to a dd 9515 at 2 ohms. Will gettin another battery in the trunk help alot? If so would either a Kinetik HC 600 or 800 be sufficient?

it will just store more power, but will put more strain on your alternator to keep both battery's charged.

I'm just wonderin if I'll be okay with what I got. I had a Treo SSX 1500.1 and it did fine with the electrical I listed. Yes, voltage dropped some, but there was only one time it dropped below 12V when the car was off, it dropped to 11.8V. It was with a test tone as well. I had a soundstream xxx 6500 which i just got rid of and that dropped to around 10.5V car off with test tones so I shut the radio off immediately. I'm wondering how the Kicker will be able to handle what I got. I'd actually prefer not to buy another battery to save me time, money, and having to build something to keep it steady from moving.

it wouldn't hurt, i'm kinda in the same boat u r, i have a hifonics 2006d and added another batt in the back w/ stock batt and alt up front..big 3 in 2/0.

I plan on upgrading what i got now right now i got everything 4awg so be sure to look on this forum soon for alot of 4awg wiring for trade looking for 1/0awg and running a 2nd battery , i can get a kinetic for $85.

bet its a 600 but its a better deal to get the propper sized one that meets your needs over getting one that is too small...i would say the same thing about an alt too. if you know you will need 250 amps and you are getting an alt going for a 160 instead due to price doesnt make much sense.

So would it be okay to run an hc 600 or 800 in the trunk along with the hc 1400 under the hood provided I got a 90A stock alt or is it not worth it/a good idea?

i don't know of a battery as small as a 600-800 that i can honestly RECOMMEND for that application by itself. reason i say that is i have seen multiple alt vehicles use 600's on large amps (car runnning mind you (same can be said about the odyssey battery that size) ) heat up and swell. if it were me at a bare minimum i would run 2 1400's or at least 2 600's or 800's in back i would say the samething if you were goin with a different brand as well. i would say 2 group 34 optimas (1 under hood) or 2 odysseys or 1 odyssey with 2 of the smaller ones...some might say its overkill but i would rather play it safe than sorry.
