2nd battery in trunk

im thinking of running my amp off a 2nd battery in the trunk would this be a better idea

im having a 1000 rms amp and if i do this will i still need a cap or would this be enough?

no you wouldn't need a cap. do you have an HO alt and big 3 under the hood? if not i recommend doing that before a 2nd battery.

a big 3 is where you upgrade the alt wires and battery wires to 0/1 guage

you don't need too, but the 2nd battery won't help. why do you think you need one?

cuz i dont feel like running the wires all over the car and its cheaper than a new alt

what do you mean running wires all over the car? you say it's cheaper but you'll spend $100 + on a good deep cycle battery that won't do anything for ya, instead of investing that money towards an HO alt. if your having a voltage issue the big 3 is cheap and easy to do.

you have to run a main charging cable from under the hood to the battery in the trunk. if you didn't your battery would only last an hour at best.

You dont want to run wires to the engine bay from the trunk, that is your reason for a second battery??

With a second battery, you would still need to have a wire going from that battery to the original battery under the hood. The second battery will need to be charged, it cant just remain in your trunk and be okay with no outside charge...
