Springfield XD's are great shooting guns as are Magnum Research's Baby Eagles. The Baby eagle is one of the few guns that feels borderline telepathic. I barely have to aim it just puts the rounds were I want them. I have large hands. It is one of the few 9's that fit comfortablity for me.

You get what you pay for. There's reviews online for any gun you'd ever consider owning. Personally I'd go for reliability first and then availability and cost of ammo. It's rough to own something that you have to pay a buck a pop to fire.

this cost $580 as well.

I think it's called the swartz safety or something like that.
Na man only two safety's that's the other tech. name for the beaver tail safety If you look around you will see that they can cause timing issues when depressed incorrectly causing ftf with that safety type you must keep a iron tight grip on it to make sure it fires every time or your cocking it and trying again and in a life/death situation I prefer to know there's no chance of issue, the firing pin safety on my 92 and my wife's 84 is incorporated in the first 1/8 of trigger pull and can't be felt in my gun but it's had a lot of smithing to make it what it is.

no it's 3 safety's, the grip safety disengages 2, technically there are 4 if you count the hammer catch.edit: maybe kimber is the only one to have a swartz safety.
What model of 1911 are you shooting? I know kimber and a couple other companies have modified the 1911, but I don'tknow of an orignal having a self decocker.

The grip safety may disengage 2 things but it is one mechanism so it can only be counted at 1.

ya no decoker if you want hammer down point it at the floor grip the hammer for dear life and try to let it down without letting it go!

I think I may be thinking of my glock's safety as well, to many guns going through here to remember them all. I have found it very hard to make the grip not disengage the safety on my 1911. I'll probably leave it on and just detension the spring. still waiting on wilson to get the **** barrel instock.

great now my wife wants your walther had to post a pic didn't ya.
it's a great little gun, the sights how ever **** major balls. It's most definitely a close counters point and shoot. That glock above it is cheap, for $800 you could even fix the airsoft trigger problem.

I still stand by getting a 22 first to cheaply learn the proper techniques of aiming. Once you get those down all you really have to do is adapt to the recoil of larger caliber.

Dad had me shooting 22 rifles when I was 2. He had to hold the end of the barrel up because I wasn't strong enough. I had a 22 pistol in my hand when I was around 6. I didn't shoot centerfire rounds till I was 12 or so.

with a rifle I think that is a good idea but for a handgun I would suggest a 9mm, that way it could be used for defense later on.

I know one thing I hate about this kimber almost all parts need to be changed for two reasons one MIM parts 1000.00 for a kimber and you can see mold marks all over it and two the mainspring housing is PLASTIC wtf cast parts I don't mind as much but I hate mim parts with a passion my 1911 is with my buddy in florida he's going to give me exactly what's on the reciept when he get's back in town(and if he don't come back I guess I get his camaro with the modded LT1 engine thats in my driveway) btw did you add the grip ext on the walther or do they come factory, I had to find some pearce ext's for my buddy's taurus slim it felt like it was going to jump out of you hand with every shot added the ext whole different gun.

or add a laser so you can shoot from somewhere out of your line of sight say peeking over the trunk of a car while holding the gun low and firing from under it....that and if you unload the gun it's the most fun your cat can have for 300.00
