$259,000 system

wtf makes an electrostaic sytem differant from an normal system...im sure the answer is within the word but it's too **** early over here to think abou tit (7:44am)

I generally look at electrostatics as "one type" speakers, meaning they are good for one or two things that they are designed for. For example, I particularly don't like MartinLogan ESL on music, but they are spectacular for movies, and I don't particularly like Magnepan on movies, but music they are totally awesome.

I'll just stick with my piston drivers.... Especially for that price. I want to put B&W components in my car, but that's another story....

I've listened to them in their demo car with their VP of eng for an hour or so...they r ok at best...nothing spectacular..typical huge impedance swings normaly associated with electrostats...so you better have an amp that can keep up or you'll hear everytime it clips....
the way it's set up, is that every listener has their own left/center/right channel and works best mounted almost were the headliner meets the windshield...

I can think of at least 20 comp set's I'd have before I baught those marketing turds
An hour or So? I sat in the the same vehicle of the VP for about 10 minutes and knew I was headed right for the slot machine (CES Show Vegas) in hopes of winning enough money to purchase the whole car!! and if you were realy paying attention the price of the system includes everything including the Amplifiers, so no worry of clipping. Ok so its out of reach but as he explained although this system is available, its main goal is to bring integrity to the line. Havent realy seen Rockford, Kicker or JL making anything but sound for the masses. Alot of my home equiptment my freinds never heard of and obviously because circuit city wont be selling many $3900 single cd players nor a single set of electrostats. Electrostats are not your average direct reflecting bose speakers. As I sat in the passenger side I can only hear my audio, not interfearing with other sound stages in the car. An electrostat is the only true way to get not only a center channel but 5.1 in the car. Ac enter channel mounted on the dash in the middle is actualy a right channel to the driver and a left channel to the passenger. If you used a conventional speaker directly in front of you it would be heard by all the passengers, an elctrostat is very directional not disturbing other sound stages set up in the car. Nice to know I learned in ten minutes what others still cant in an hour!

That's because they are sound for the masses. There are plenty of companies not mentioned that are audiophile grade. Many of them make audiophile grade speakers for your car. Of course it's more or less a waste of money in a car, because how good can it get without picking and modifying your vehicle around the stereo instead of the other way around. In any case I suppose if I had millions to burn and a million dollar car to put it in I might be tempted.

I have also had the honor of listening to this Electrostat System at CES in the Chrysler 300. That has got to be the craziest sounding system I have ever heard. Everything was so crisp and clear that I was hearing new instruments in songs that I've listened to my whole life. It was trully amazing. If I did have the money, that would be the way to go.

Well I think honestly you would have to hear it. The system is somewhat of a hybrid system. If you don't want the Electrostats on you just hit a switch and it changes to a normal setup. Believe it or not, even that sounded incredible. That subwoofer they have (UL12) is just amazing also. I would definately put there components against alot of high end Components out there.

I don't deny that it probably sounds good...

Jigga what, why would they have a backup system? or is that just in the test car?
