An electrostat is the only true way to get not only a center channel but 5.1 in the car. Ac enter channel mounted on the dash in the middle is actualy a right channel to the driver and a left channel to the passenger. If you used a conventional speaker directly in front of you it would be heard by all the passengers, an elctrostat is very directional not disturbing other sound stages set up in the car.
