24v alternator

I work a whole lot with 24v alts (48v alts exist too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif ) They are mostly used for military use (jammers and such).
128v alternators are used for large diesel trucks and generators.

I think there was a time when we made huge alts like that for tractors or something. Not so much anymore, 48V is the biggest we make now, or in the last 2 years (how long I've been here).

Our military trucks run 2 batteries in series for 24v starting systems. They actually have a dual alt system with one alt per battery though. DC does a lot of military work and things of that sort so I'm sure that's what this is for.

24v starting systems are standard on all military vehicles so they can all jump each other off

Ok, I saw that military and armored vehicles for the president had 28v alternators.
DC power alternators built this, so I think they intended it for car audio. Could have made it for military/government use though. They didn't specify in the article
90% of DC's business is military/govt/emergency vehicles......car audio is a very small part of what they do....
