225 amp Meachman alt arrived

Hey guys,

The 225 amp alt is finally here from Mechman to replace the stock one still in the stock location. They CNC'd a mounting plate on the back just for the satty (Thanks Matt, Dennis, and Mechman team!) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

It actually put out 243 amps on the dyno, which is very impressive (granted this was cool, so output will drop a portion once heated up)...because this actually was meant to be a 205 amp alternator but surpassed a lot of expectations //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

This is going to be a very welcome addition to the satty and probably puts out more than my 250 amp'er....which im probably going to replace down the line with a Mechman 250 amp (or more) alt as well..

And this will be installed in the future because the plug for my saturn is on back-order and will be sent to me next week...

Did they add that grounding bolt to the alt or do they come that way stock?

Hmm, I think it has to do with my car's alternator setup that its replacing...im actually not too positive..

and yea, i can spell 'mechman' in the title of the thread..haha

Some of the best...they dyno it before they send it to you and the site is http://www.mechman.com

I would highly recommend them, service has been fantastic and they have options for just about anything..

And im pretty confident no other alt company could have a 225 amp alt option for a 97 Saturn SL2...thanks to Mechman, im one of them...actually, probably just 'it' haha

Plenty of competitors use them and are very satisfied, id suggest them to anyone

mine was a '205' amp alt...and it put out well over expected (almost 40 more amps than expected on the dyno)...so in my eyes it's money well spent when you need a solid electrical setup..

Depending on the application, most of my kits are much cheaper than that. I can do any 250 amp CS144 for $349 shipped. The only thing that increases cost above that is custom brackets or adapter harnesses. Feel free to e-mail me for a price quote for any application.

Yes, we include an oversized grounding stud to make big3 upgrades easier.
