I want to use my factory wiring harness to power my door speakers from a amp. I have an aftermarket head unit. I had the 6 speaker, 8.4 uconnect head unit stock (non-Alpine). Is the factory amp in the head unit or, is it located somewhere else?

No. You would have to add one to it. But it is outside the head unit. Underneath usually or in the back. If I’m not mistaken, u actually don’t want to use rcas? #18 wiring gauge then, don’t go above 7.51 ohms on all speakers. Per 1000 feet of wiring. At 149 degree Fehrenheit. So still okay. Won’t burn. Okay to use. I don’t know what the insulation is. Rubber. 167 degrees F Maximum. I don’t think it will go up that high.

If you have an external amp, it will be located under the dash on the left side of the steering column. It will have heat sinks on it.

The factory amplifier on the 2015 Ram 1500 is located under the dashboard on the driver’s side. You may be able to get the appropriate harness from PAC, if you don't already have one. https://pac-audio.com/collections/amplifier-integration-harness. I used one for my Mustang, and it was plug and play. Easy install.
