2014 Honda Accord Sport + Kicker Hideaway 11HS8 Install Help, Lost!

Hi everyone,

I want to install a Kicker Hideaway 11HS8 sub in my dad's Accord underneath the passenger seat, but I'm really quite lost on where to tap and how to run the wires. I've read a ton of guides, but they're all for trunk subs where running the wires down the driver side, and I'm not sure how to get the wires around to the passenger side. You guys could probably do this in your sleep, please help! I don't believe I can install under the driver side since I think the motorized controls make it too tight to fit the sub there, but the sub comes in tomorrow, and I will know for sure then.

So questions:

1) How do I run my amp power cable to the battery on the passenger side? Or is the driver side the only way?

2a) Is tapping the front speakers a bad idea? I see everyone taps the rear speakers for the sub which makes sense for a trunk sub, but what about for an underseat sub? Or can I tap the audio shortly after it leaves the head unit? I got a Kicker KISL so the wire is pretty short (1 ft).

2b) If I tap the rear speakers, do I just run the cable underneat the rear seats along the passenger side to the sub?

Sorry for these very noobish questions. Thank you so much!

Don't tap the rear speakers Honda only sends about 30% of the power to them tap the fronts from behind the radio, Also Honda has terrible oem eq and factory bass roll off so you wont get much bass from that setup id suggest a lc2i and a regular ported enclosure in trunk :/ (sorry) I would run power from driver side you should be able to find a grommet to push it through but if you must you might have to drill a hole through the firewall for passenger side just make sure you install a rubber bushing if you do that. Hope this helps a little //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well, I finished the install. The rear speakers worked out pretty well, but the 30% power explains why I have to boost the gain on the amp so much to get the sub going. It sounds pretty good though, and I'm quite happy with the results! It took me way too long to do the install this time, but the next install will definitely be way faster.
