2007 Dodge Ram stereo interface (harness install)?

I want to upgrade my stereo and am used to a standard harness, but it looks like I might need some sort of interface box thing. Stock is a basic am/fm/CD player, no nav or bluetooth or anything. Is that interface necessary?

Yes if you want to keep all your chimes and such. I may have one still from 07 dodge.
