im thinking aout getting two 12" Alpine type-r's, the 05 model. i dont know of anyone who has heard them or anything so if someone can give me some advise on them let me know. i have about 300 to play with so if anyone has other suggestions throw em out. i have a bout 1500 watts ready

Im also on the same boat as you. Its either the Type Rs or the CompVrs. Kinda leaning towards the Type Rs tho. I know they are like 144 on ebay. The other cheap place is being whack. So I cant get em cheaper. I know that the old ones were pretty good and handled lots of power. I noticed that the new ones say 500 rms which might mean that they are less efficient. I really wanna hear a word from some one who has experience with them tho.

they went all out when they remade the type R....new surrond just like the type X....better cooling and yes more watts/dollar./....i think the 12 is 400 mabye 450 rms and i know they hit harder just look at them....lol

last type R i heard was a 15 [2002] so im looking forward to the new model...ya its worth the loot for sure....they really pounded as the 02 model...now they will cause my pants to go a dark brown hahahhaha

i would really love to get a pair too. Its just that the price is a little high. Maybe I should just wait a little and save up some more. I would probably put them in a ported box with 1.5 cubes each. Really wats holding me back and having me leaning towards the compvrs is the price.

if they get louder and hit the lows and have good xmax i'm sold
same here. I just want to REALLY know if they are worth it. Need to know if they will get loud. I also got 1200 to feed a pair //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

they look like they would sound great, but that doesnt really matter. i just want to know some opinions of someone that has heard them. i havent seen them in any local shops around here so i dont know what to do.

Put them in sealed and let their quality and quantity shine.

Kicker 2005 05CVR124, CVR 12"

---------------------------------------------------------------

l2065c12vr4-f.jpeg

Maximum power, wiring flexibility, and a round-shaped sub from Kicker. Put them together, and you've got the "Very Radical" CompVR. The 05CVR124 is a 12" dual voice coil sub that handles the most power of any of Kicker's round-shaped pounders.

The CompVR sub features a rigid, injection-molded polymineral cone that'll stand up to the demands of your favorite low tones. Add Kicker's famous Inverted Structural Dome, and you have terrific durability and reliability.

The hyperextended, vented pole piece and back plate are molded as a single piece for outstanding heat transfer and cone travel. Perimeter venting in the non-resonant steel basket helps to keep the sub running cool. Dual 4-ohm voice coils add versatility to the way you wire your system.

Note: If you are wiring this DVC sub for lower impedance, make sure that your amp is compatible. Most car amplifiers are stable down to 2 ohms in standard mode, or 4 ohms in bridged operation.
