subs vibrating

my sub seems to make a vibrating sound or effect when it hits really low notes. what could that be or what could be the cause? I just put silicon on the out side of the box to make sure that i had no air leaks. i even put silicon around the sub. subs are supposed to vibrate... thats how noise is made.

well how low? cuz playin a 15hz test tone will make anything vibrate.

What subwoofer? what amplifier? Do You know the low pass setting? What kind of vehicle? Where is the woofer - and where is it aimed?

I think I know what your talking about though. My subs made kind of a "slapping" sound when they hit deep notes at high volumes. But that was in my 1.00 cu.ft sealed box. I havn't had that problem with my ported box.

Though... I've disalbed sigs & avatars for a while now. Alot of them are a.) ugly, b.) incredibly stupid & repetitve, c) outdated.

looks like i'm gonna build or get another box. i just played one sub at a time, not 2. each sub played well and when played in parallel they sounded dirty like a pair of bahns. i'm gonna deden my trunk too.

I just siliconed the box and checked for leaks and evey thing looked ok.

yeah, its not quite musical, but it sounds bad. I'm just glad that now i know its not my subs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif .
