alright, im looking to port my type r, in a flase wall setup, trunk side. im having all wood work dont at the local shop who does custom work. im attaching some pics of my rear deck and its deal because i want to port THROUGH the rear deck. 2 4 inch aero ports through the deck and the sub facing the trunk rear. any help on what to do would be awesome. keep in mind it IS a 2005 mustang so I want things removeable if i sell the car. (ex: no fiberglass on paint, no spray foam that cant be peeled up)

what im hoping is, the shop can squeeze 3.5 cubes out of my trunk without having to build full height. (flush with the deck support) if they can build something that is like 15hx35wx15d thats ~3.5 cubes (external demensions)

after sub displacement/port displacement/and all that it comes to 2.996.

i believe this to be a good box for a typeR or any sub i could upgrade to in the future. pics will come as progress is made.

also, i believe with removal of rear speakers, my over all mids and highs will be possibly drowned out, do you guys think the rears play much part in this?

well look at it like this, notice an audible difference if your running 2 speakers instead of 4. ?

I think u should keep the rear speakers if there not going to cause a problem.

i was goin to use there holes to run the port up through the rear deck.

Put some broad spectrum horn tweeters back there if you want a little rear fill. My last car had 5 1/4" speakers and horns as rear fill, and the 5 1/4's blew and I couldn't tell the difference in sound. Might be something to consider.

would u say 2.866 cubes is good for a type r ported? ports will be external.

I had Optimus 3 1/4's, ($5 at radioshack after they shut their speaker lines down) a pair of Image Dynamics horns or any small DIY set (no bullets though, ick) would work good too. You just have to be careful that the horns dont overpower your front soundstage.
