2003 mustang, Need help with maximum sub size

Im doing an install for a friend in his 2003 mustang, but I do not know what the maximum size enclosure that will fit. He wants to do a single 15" but I told him a 12 would probably be the best choice. The trunk is not small by no means but the opening is, so I was thinking to do sub up, port back. Any advice?

Argh, the Mustang trunk sucks and I can say so because I have a 2006 GT myself. There are 2 ways to do a 15 in the trunk and neither are fun:

1. Ditch the spare, and build a fiberglass enclosure in the spare tire well. The downside is you will still need to build above it to get the proper air space.

2. Build your ported MDF enclosure in the trunk.

You could try IB, but that will generally result in less power handling, less output, and require removal of the rear upper seat backs.

its very tight i know a guy over on icix who had 2 12s sealed 2 cubes and just barely got it in the opening had to roung the edges on the box

Idea 1 and 3 are out, there will be no output lol. The second idea may be a possibility. Thanks for the help.

Hes a very undeceive person and if he can fit the 15 he will not want it, but if not then he shall probably buy it.

ive got an 02 GT

the trunk is 14.5 inches tall from the inside.

so the biggest box you can fit is 36"w by 30"d by 14.5"h

im going to be doing 2 xxx 15 sealed, upfiring in a week or two.
