2 type r's or 1 l7 15

I have right now a hifonics BX1605D amp running to 2 type r's tuned to about 38hz. This bangs don't get me wrong. But i'm possibly giving this system up to get a kicker l7 15. just a single kicker, would that be louder than my type r's? I am in NO way talking about sq, just pure SPL. hahaha, Do a search for Type R's and tell me you already tried the search.......The 2 type R's have the ability to get as loud as 2 15" L7's...

but in your case, Id say you are still hitting harder than that 15" L7 would just because you have the cone area advantage. You should try and get them a little more power though if possible, then you would be very happy.

Go to search for title and type in "the official type R thread" Lately the Type R's have been winning competitions all over and putting up incredible numbers...also you can check out thecaraudiobox.com and check out the videos

i know the capability of the type r. I have read over almost all the threads. The question was, what would be louder spl wise, the 2 type r's or the 1 l7. I tried searching all over but came up with nothing. It's already done so just drop this thread. I just ordered my l7

well, i sold my two type r's yesterday.

I'm glad I "wasted" my money on one l7...I would rather be louder with 1 sub than with 2. The l7 is much louder (I had a friends setup in my car - 1 kicker l7 15 w/ my amp and box is tuned to 38 hz...actually exact kicker specs)

The type r's were 264 for me (shipped). I bought the l7 for 196.52...."wasted" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif I sold the type r's last night for 300. So actually the l7 only cost me 160.52 and i'm louder

I'm not all about the type r hype...they are not all that great. I like the l7 15, so thats what I went with. I read all about both, I actually tried both (which most people fail to do before they make stupid comments) and I am not impressed at all by the type r's. which is why I sold them last night. Don't get me wrong, they are a great "all around sub" and suited my needs for a little while. Before the flaming begings...the two type r's were in a ported box built by an audio shop around here and the kicker box was built by me. The kicker did not sound better...but definetly was noticibly louder. So I would much rather be loud with one sub than ok with two. The sq is not a matter because every peice of plastic and metal in my car vibrates/rattles anyways so there is absolutely no sq.

all I wanna do is get loud. I do care too much about sq...but it's about 20 sq 80 spl for me. I love bass...

All I was looking for was a decent answer, not a smartass.
